Maps produced for the first time earlier in 2003 - Long-Awaited Complete Coverage of the Towns and Villages of East Lothian and of Kintyre & Mid Argyll:
HADDINGTON, DUNBAR, NORTH BERWICK STREET PLAN MUSSELBURGH, TRANENT, PRESTONPANS STREET PLAN
Nearly all the communities in these maps are covered at the very large scale of 8 inches to 1 mile (1:7500), allowing considerable detail such as connecting footpaths and names of churches and community facilities. At the same time, the maps avoid the use of symbols which, on street maps, can often be confusing and annoying, especially for 'non-mappies'. Musselburgh is covered at twice the scale of any comparable publication - the town has a full side on one of the new maps, a welcome change from being a small-scale inset on maps of Edinburgh! Up-to-date - the new East Lothian maps show major new developments at Aberlady, Dunbar and Tranent. The coverage is restricted to the administrative area of East Lothian Council. Midlothian has its long-established street plans of Dalkeith (including Mayfield/Gorebridge), Bonnyrigg & Lasswade and Penicuik, Loanhead. All the communities on this coloured map are covered at the large scale of 8 inches to 1 mile (1:7500), allowing considerable detail such as connecting footpaths and names of churches and community facilities.
